For as long as I can remember, I always loved to solve problems once and for all. Every time I see an opportunity to create a long-term solution, I cease it immediately.
More than giving me an illusion of control over my life, it allows me to acquire knowledge about a wide range of topics. From nutrition to physiology, from psychology to performance optimization, etc.
Over the years, I have gathered a lot of knowledge and created many skills. And naturally, more and more people have come to me asking for some advice. Even though most of them never followed my tips, I decided that it was worth researching and analyzing some part of my daily routine.
To do so, I created a new article series called "Engineering the perfect" that will analyze all the recurrences in life and will try to formalize the related best practices.
You might think that most of our daily activities are not that complicated, and I risk to state the obvious. Let's take "The breakfast" for instance:
- Should I eat in the morning or not?
- If so, should it be sugary? Salty? Both?
- How many calories should I get?
- At what time?
- Are hot beverages a good thing at that time? If not, what?
- Should it be solid food or smoothie?
Not so easy, it turns out. Rinse and repeat about sport, sleep, hygiene, etc.
I will make a list of everyday life rituals and, I will try to find reliable scientific sources for every one of these questions. To keep pertinent and generalizable practices, I promise to refrain as much as I can from giving my own opinion.
I will write a short blog post for each topic and references it in this very article. By doing so, I hope to crack as many everyday life routines as I can. Hopefully, it will help me, and maybe some of you improve their lives, whatever that means for each of us.
